The silver city nestled<\/p>\n
in mountains jagged and round<\/p>\n
carved up by miners and their reveries.<\/p>\n
The highway stretching<\/p>\n
back and forth<\/p>\n
to that place<\/p>\n
from this one<\/p>\n
knows me<\/p>\n
but not me alone.<\/p>\n
All of us who’ve driven its curves<\/p>\n
its flats<\/p>\n
its scarred ridges and ruts<\/p>\n
have a relationship with each unmistakable section<\/p>\n
a familiar friend<\/p>\n
a lover of sorts<\/p>\n
always advancing<\/p>\n
yet disappearing behind<\/p>\n
creating a ribbon of ghosts<\/p>\n
and calling us home.<\/p>\n
